Magical Uses and History: Eucalyptus is believed to be one of the most useful trees in the world and has been used for a variety of magical and medicinal purposes through the centuries. The Aborigines regard the eucalyptus as a cure-all, using it for shelter as well as medicine.

The leaves can be stuffed into healing poppets and carried or placed under your pillow to maintain good health and ward off evil. To relieve colds, ring green candles with the leaves and pods and burn them until they burn out while visualizing the person being completely healthy. Wearing the immature pods on green thread is believed to heal sore throats.

Eucalyptus can be used in a number of spells including:

     Healing Spells

Medicinal Uses: Eucalyptus can be used either in whole leaf form for as oil to treat a variety of ailments. Due to its antiseptic nature whole leaves can used to treat fever, upset stomach, asthma, whooping cough and other respiratory infections, joint pain, acne, and burns. The oil, which should be diluted first, can be used internally and externally to treat these same ailments, along with mouth pain and inflammation.

Preparation and Dosage: Eucalyptus can be taken internally as an infusion or as an oil dilution. To make an infusion, pour a cup of boiling water onto 1-2 teaspoons of dried leaves and let infuse for 10 minutes. Drink this solution up to three times a day. If using eucalyptus oil, please follow the directions listed on the box/bottle. Each one is different and therefore should be treated as such. Externally Eucalyptus oil can be diluted and applied directly to the infected or swollen area or used in a bath.
