Still Here!

Hey everyone! I just wanted to check in really quickly to let everyone know I am still alive and well. I needed to take a month off from my computer. Sitting behind one half the day at work doesn't make me feel like coming home and doing the same thing. I have also been suffering from a bout of depression again making it extremely difficult to become motivated to do anything resembling work, even if it is something I enjoy such as this blog.

That being said I have several posts planned for this month regarding different Yule crafts, blessings, and traditions. As long as my depression does not continue to get the best of me, these are things you should start seeing over the next couple of weeks.

If you have been following the blog on Instagram you may have seen I have some somethings lately, including working on my grimoire. I am slightly disappointed that I cannot paint the pages as the paper is too thin, so I have been working with markers, a medium somewhat new to me. Yes, I can color with markers and I have a dozen times, but markers don't blend and mix like paints too. I am considering using markers then lightly going over my drawings with paint as well, just a little bit. I think it may end up creating some truly stunning pages.

Here are some peaks at what I have done with just markers and some sketches I have made. I have a Grimoire Challenge planned for 2017 and would love to see everyone participate to create/update their Books of Shadows and Grimoires.

As I said, I hope to be back soon. I've just needed some time off from everything.

I hope everyone else is doing well!

  1. Sorry to hear about your depression, but glad that you're still keeping this blog going, it's definitely my favorite Pagan blog at the moment. About the markers, have you tired Promarkers? They're a bit expensive but you can blend the colors with them and the results are really something (a friend of mine uses them to color her comics so). If you can get your hands on some of them, I recommend to try them out!

    1. I've never even heard of them. I'll have to add them to my list. I just bought a pack of regular markers with 50 different colors. They are great, but just don't blend. It would be nice to have some that do! Thank you for the suggestion.

  2. Glad your are still kicking lady! I have been following your Instagram and look forward to seeing your progress on your grimoire pages. Mine of course are spread out between three volumes but I'd like to go through and redo them with pretty illustrations like yours.

I understand about the depression... I'm on a very low dose of medication to even mine out. Mine is coupled with anxiety(thanks genetics!) But I've found that taking the meds corrects my serotonin imbalance so I can function normally.
Don't ever feel alone. Hit me up if you need to!

    1. I suffer from anxiety too. I just need to suck it up and go see someone about medication options. Thank you for the support.

Three volumes...Damn girl! How much do you have written out?

    2. I have most of my spells with sketches in BOS, but they aren't in any order. About 15 pages. I have a gazillion things saved on a private board on Pinterest that I am gradually updating in my little BOS.
The other grimoire I have is the one I want to make"pretty" and put them in order. That will be quite an undertaking but that is part of the beauty of it.

And a note on meds: Some times it takes a few tries to get the right one for you, but a few weeks in, you should really notice a difference. I am sending you all kinds of positive juju, hope it helps :)
